Course Details:
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 – section 11 requires employers to have procedures in place to deal with any emergency that may arise in the workplace. The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulation 2007 – requires employers to designate at each place of work under the employer’s control the number of occupational first aiders as is necessary to give first – aid at the place of work concerned.
Objective:
Persons wishing to become Occupational First Aiders should attend this course.
Course Content:
- First Aid in the Workplace
- Patient Assessment
- Respiratory Emergencies
- Cardiac First Response (including the use of an AED)
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Altered Levels of Consciousness
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Burns and Scalds ,Chemicals, Poisons and Electric Shock

Certification is valid for a period of 2 years
